BRAF, a kinase-encoding gene from the RAS/RAF/MAPK pathway is recently being studied in relation to prognosis of colorectal cancer.

Ninety percent of the BRAF mutations consist V600E mutation (1799T>A) which causes the constitutive activation of the protein.The presence of BRAF mutation is significantly associated with right-sided colon cancers and is associated with decreased overall survival.

BRAF mutations were suggested to be a negative predictor of response to anti-EGFR therapy.

SNP screening of BRAF V600E

BRAF SNP screening real-time PCR kit is a multiplex real-time PCR which uses a pair of primer with two fluorogenic probes based chemistry that uses the 5 ́ nuclease activity of Taq DNA polymerase.

BRAF mutation screening kit detects single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) – 1799T>A responsible for mutation V600E and discriminates mutant allele from wild type in a single tube.The kit includes all the reagents from sample to SNP detection.
