The virus belongs to the Flaviviridae family with four distinct serotypes DENV-1, 2, 3, and 4, responsible for causing infection. Dengue infection occurs in the younger demographic mostly. As per global estimates, in 2022, 4.1 million people were infected, and around 4 thousand died due to the dengue virus.
